1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestone dates in the
4 history of organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Lodge
6 588 of Ottawa, Illinois, was chartered on June 1, 1900, and
7 is celebrating its 100th Anniversary; and
8 WHEREAS, For 100 years the members of the Benevolent
9 Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 588, have raised and
10 disbursed funds to charitable causes including the Illinois
11 Elks Crippled Children Corps, the Elks National Foundation,
12 and other local charitable events; and
13 WHEREAS, The amount contributed to these charities for
14 the betterment of our youth by Lodge 588 in Ottawa is among
15 the highest per capita of service organizations in the State
16 of Illinois; and
17 WHEREAS, The members of Lodge 588 in Ottawa contribute
18 thousands of hours annually for charitable causes; and
19 WHEREAS, The current officers of Elks Lodge 588 in Ottawa
20 are Vince Pitstick, Exalted Ruler; Don Leipold, Leading
21 Knight; Bill Sipula, Loyal Knight; Kelly Magoonaugh,
22 Lecturing Knight; Jean Peterson, Secretary; and Don Grubaugh,
23 Treasurer; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we recognize and congratulate Lodge 588 of the Benevolent
27 Protective Order of Elks on their 100th Anniversary of their
28 Charter; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the members of the Benevolent Protective Order
