1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestone dates in the
4 history of organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Channahon Fire Department will be
6 celebrating its 50th Anniversary; and
7 WHEREAS, The Channahon Fire Protection District will be
8 celebrating its 40th anniversary and will recognize the 8
9 employees and 45 volunteers that serve 40 square miles in
10 Will County; and
11 WHEREAS, The volunteers of the Channahon Fire Department
12 respond to over 700 calls per year for fire and medical
13 emergencies; they also respond to calls on 10 miles off the
14 Des Plaines River; and
15 WHEREAS, The volunteers of the Channahon Fire Department
16 have dedicated their lives for the sole benefit of assisting
17 those in distress; therefore be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we honor the Channahon Fire Department on its 50th
21 anniversary and also the Channahon Fire Protection District
22 on its 40th anniversary and recognize its volunteers for
23 their dedication and assistance to the residents of Will
24 County; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to David Riddle, Fire Chief of the Channahon Fire
27 Department and to the 8 employees and 45 volunteers of the
28 Channahon Fire Protection District as an expression of our
29 esteem.
