1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones within the
4 State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The staff of Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood
6 House in East St. Louis, Illinois, are celebrating ninety
7 years of ministry in the year 2000; and
8 WHEREAS, Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House is a
9 mission of the United Methodist Church; and
10 WHEREAS, Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House is a day
11 care center; the Neighborhood House provides a Sure Start
12 program, designed to ensure a successful school experience
13 for children; the staff of the Neighborhood House also offers
14 case management and child development services; and
15 WHEREAS, The Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House Board
16 of Directors and staff are to be commended for their hard
17 work and dedication to the community of East St. Louis;
18 therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate the Board of Directors and staff of the
22 Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House on the occasion of
23 their anniversary celebration; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the Board of Directors and staff of the Lessie
26 Bates Davis Neighborhood House.
