1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Renee Cipriano was recently named one of "forty
6 Illinois attorneys under forty years old to watch" by the Law
7 Bulletin Publishing Company; and
8 WHEREAS, Renee Cipriano currently serves as the Senior
9 Advisor to Governor George Ryan for Environmental and Natural
10 Resources; and
11 WHEREAS, Renee Cipriano is a 1985 graduate of Loyola
12 University and a 1988 graduate of Loyola University School of
13 Law; and
14 WHEREAS, In 1995 Governor Jim Edgar appointed Renee
15 Cipriano as Associate Director and Chief Counsel of the
16 Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; from 1997 to 1999
17 she was a partner at Schiff, Hardin & White; in 1999 Renee
18 Cipriano was appointed to her current position where she
19 oversees the Illinois EPA, the State Department of Natural
20 Resources, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of
21 Nuclear Safety, and the Pollution Control Board; and
22 WHEREAS, Renee Cipriano is the chair of the Governor's
23 Environment and Natural Resources Leadership Cabinet and the
24 Governor's Balanced Growth Cabinet; and she serves on the
25 Executive Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chicago Council
26 of Foreign Relations; and
27 WHEREAS, Renee Cipriano received her strong Italian work
28 ethic and strong Italian family values from her parents,
29 Pamela and Joseph, as well as receiving the benefit of a
30 loving family; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate Renee Cipriano on being named one of "forty
4 Illinois attorneys under forty years old to watch" by the Law
5 Bulletin Publishing Company; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to Renee Cipriano.
