1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The late Representative Zeke Giorgi of the
3 second largest city in Illinois, the City of Rockford, was
4 one of the earliest supporters of riverboat gambling in
5 Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, An applicant from the City of Rockford applied
7 for the tenth and final available owners license under the
8 Riverboat Gambling Act; and
9 WHEREAS, The applicant from the City of Rockford was
10 never given a hearing because of time restraints; and
11 WHEREAS, The applicant from the City of Rockford, Palace
12 Development Company, LLC stands ready to amend its
13 application for the vacant tenth riverboat gambling owners
14 license; and
15 WHEREAS, The Illinois courts have enjoined the awarding
16 of the tenth owners license that is authorized under the
17 Riverboat Gambling Act; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-
19 FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20 advise the Illinois Gaming Board to give all pending
21 applicants for an owners license under the Riverboat Gambling
22 Act, including the applicant from the City of Rockford, a
23 fair and impartial hearing to become the tenth owners
24 licensee under the Riverboat Gambling Act; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 delivered to the Illinois Gaming Board.
