1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
6 Charles Joseph Zickus, III, DVM, MS, and Candace Joy Brooks,
7 are to be wed on May 14, 2000, in Ellisville, Mississippi;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, Charles and Candace met while they were
10 attending Mississippi State University; he was born in
11 Berwyn, Illinois on May 5, 1968, while she was born in
12 Laurel, Mississippi on July 3, 1974; fate intervened and the
13 two met, making the decision to unite in holy matrimony; and
14 WHEREAS, Charles Zickus will be joined on his special day
15 by the members of his family, including his proud parents,
16 Charles Joseph Zickus, Jr. and State Representative Anne
17 Zickus; his sister, Kathleen Martens; his nephew and niece,
18 Matthew and Samantha Martens; his aunts and uncles, William
19 Zickus, Joan Greenhoff, Nancy and Michael Cummings, Gail
20 Carlson, and in spirit, the late Adrienne Warneke; and in
21 spirit, his grandparents, the late Charles and Eleanor Zickus
22 and the late William and Julia Greenhoff; and
23 WHEREAS, Candace Brooks will be joined on her special day
24 by members of her family, including her parents, B.L., Jr.
25 and Deborah S. Brooks; her brothers and their wives, Chad and
26 Jill Brooks, and Joel and Terrie Brooks; her niece, Addie
27 Brooks; and her grandparents, Louise and, in spirit, the late
28 Sid Strickland, and B.L., Sr. and Betty Brooks; and
29 WHEREAS, Pastor David Allen, of the West Ellisville
30 Baptist Church, will officiate over the pastoral scene to
31 take place at the Brooks residence in Ellisville,

1 Mississippi, on May 14, 2000, as Charles and Candace join in
2 their great journey together; and
3 WHEREAS, Charles and Candace will make their new home in
4 Polk City, Florida, where Dr. Zickus will practice veterinary
5 medicine at the Outback Animal Hospital; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8 we congratulate Charles Joseph Zickus, III, and Candace Joy
9 Brooks on the occasion of their marriage; and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to Dr. and Mrs. Charles Zickus, III.
