1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Mireya Mata-Donnelly, a Kindergarten teacher at
3 Ruiz Elementary School in Chicago, is one of the Illinois
4 teachers to receive the Golden Apple Awards for excellence in
5 education; and
6 WHEREAS, Ms. Mata-Donnelly received her bachelor's degree
7 in elementary education and her master's degree in early
8 childhood education from the University of Illinois at
9 Chicago; and
10 WHEREAS, With the excitement that comes from Mireya
11 Mata-Donnelly's classroom, there is no denying the positive
12 impact she is having as a teacher; her kindergartners love
13 school, her energy, and smiling face; and
14 WHEREAS, In her everyday life as a teacher, she reflects
15 strength, community service, positive attitude, peaceful
16 solutions, tireless efforts, and quiet heroism; and
17 WHEREAS, Teachers like Mireya Mata-Donnelly are committed
18 to their students and elicit the best from them; therefore,
19 be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate Mireya Mata-Donnelly on receiving the
23 prestigious Golden Apple Award for excellence in education
24 and commend her for her innovative and successful approach to
25 teaching; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Mireya Mata-Donnelly.
