1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pride and appreciation we take
3 this opportunity to laud the efforts of Chief William D.
4 Miller; and
5 WHEREAS, William D. Miller was a founding member of the
6 Illinois TRIAD; and
7 WHEREAS, He deserves our sincerest gratitude and
8 recognition for unselfishly serving as the Illinois TRIAD
9 Chairman from 1990 to 1999; and
10 WHEREAS, Under his leadership the TRIAD has provided the
11 necessary impetus to make Illinois a recognized leader in the
12 fight against crime involving the victimization of the
13 elderly; and
14 WHEREAS, During his tenure, the Illinois TRIAD has
15 spearheaded the development of an Elderly Service Officer
16 Training course and a resulting Elderly Service Officers
17 Association, development of leadership conferences and
18 distance learning mini-training conferences, implementation
19 of annual statewide TRIAD training conferences, and
20 development of model protocols for law enforcement agencies
21 on crime against the elderly; and
22 WHEREAS, The most important attainment during his tenure
23 was the achievement of increasing interagency cooperation and
24 coordination of services and information between the TRIAD
25 member agencies; and
26 WHEREAS, William D. Miller continues to support the TRIAD
27 and its activities in addressing crimes committed against the
28 elderly; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we applaud William D. Miller's accomplishments as Chairman of
2 the Illinois TRIAD; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to him as an expression of our esteem and
5 admiration for his accomplishments.
