 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are  pleased  to  honor  milestones  in  the
 4    history of institutions in the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS,  The  Ann M. Kiley Center in Waukegan, Illinois,
 6    will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on  April  4,  2000;
 7    and

 8        WHEREAS,   The   Ann  M.  Kiley  Center  is  an  Illinois
 9    Department of  Human  Services  state-operated  developmental
10    center;  it  serves  people  with developmental disabilities,
11    generally from northern Illinois; the ages of individuals  in
12    the  Center  range  from 10 to 85, with an average age of 39;
13    and

14        WHEREAS, The Ann M. Kiley Center was built in 1975; there
15    are 48  single-story,  four  bedroom  homes,  with  8  to  10
16    individuals per home; and

17        WHEREAS,  The  Ann  M.  Kiley Center provides residential
18    services, training, and health services to the individuals in
19    residence; the mission of  the  Kiley  Center  is  to  enable
20    individuals  to  develop  and achieve their personal goals by
21    providing supports and services; the Kiley Center strives  to
22    assist  each resident with developing the potential to return
23    to the world outside the Kiley Center; therefore, be it

24        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
25    NINETY-FIRST  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26    we  congratulate  the  Ann  M.  Kiley  Center  in   Waukegan,
27    Illinois,  on  its  25th  anniversary  of  providing  hope to
28    special individuals; and be it further

29        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
30    presented to the Ann M. Kiley Center.
