1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Dr. Robert Schneider will retire as
6 Hoover-Schrum School District 157 Superintendent on June 30,
7 2000; District 157 is located in Calumet City, Illinois; and
8 WHEREAS, Before serving the last 14 years as
9 Superintendent, Dr. Robert Schneider served 18 years as a
10 business teacher, coach, and in various administrative
11 positions with Thornton-Fractional High School District 215;
12 his last position with the school was as District Business
13 Manager; and
14 WHEREAS, Dr. Robert Schneider is a lifelong resident of
15 Calumet City; he is a member of St. Victor's Parish, the
16 Calumet City Lions Club, and St. Margaret Hospital Citizens
17 Board; and
18 WHEREAS, In addition to himself, there are other members
19 of Dr. Robert Schneider's family involved in education: his
20 wife, Kathy, is a teacher at District 215, and will join her
21 husband in retirement; his son, Tom, is a principal in
22 Glenwood, Illinois; his daughter, Sue Bailey, is a 4th grade
23 teacher in Lansing, Illinois; and his youngest daughter,
24 Mary, is an education major at Eastern Illinois University;
25 he also is the proud father of Peggy Szurnski, a Human
26 Resource Representative; Dr. Schneider's father and brother
27 also served as school board members in the community;
28 therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
31 we congratulate Dr. Robert Schneider on his upcoming

2 157; we wish him and his wife, Kathy, continued success in
3 their future; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Dr. Robert Schneider.
