1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate J.H. Augustine and his
4 late father, Hank Augustine, for serving the Democratic Party
5 84 years in Olive I Township; and
6 WHEREAS, The late Hank Augustine served Olive Township 54
7 years; he first served upon his election as a Justice of the
8 Peace; he went on to serve as Democratic Precinct
9 Committeeman and Township Trustee; after his passing, his
10 memory was preserved on a plaque given by Olive Township,
11 celebrating his 54 years of service; and
12 WHEREAS, J.H. "Jim" Augustine was first elected
13 Democratic Precinct Committeeman on St. Patrick's Day, March
14 17, 1970; in addition to serving as Committeeman, Mr.
15 Augustine serves on the Madison County Board, and has also
16 served as a Township Trustee in the past; and
17 WHEREAS, Together this father and son have served and are
18 serving the people of Madison County and Olive Township I for
19 84 years; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate J.H. "Jim" Augustine for a job well done; and
23 we thank him for continuing the tradition started by his late
24 father, Hank Augustine, of serving the people of their area;
25 and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to J.H. Augustine.
