1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Jeffrey E. Lewis, of Oak Park, Illinois, was
6 recently named an income partner in the law firm of Gordon &
7 Glickson P.C., in Chicago, Illinois; and
8 WHEREAS, Jeffrey E. Lewis received his Bachelor of Arts
9 degree from Southern Illinois University in 1978, his Juris
10 Doctor from Rutgers University in 1981, and his Masters of
11 Law from New York University in 1984; and
12 WHEREAS, Jeffrey E. Lewis is affiliated with the American
13 Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the
14 Illinois Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association,
15 where he served as Co-Chair of the Foreign and International
16 Law Committee from 1996 to 1998; he currently serves on the
17 Board of Directors for the World Trade Center of Chicago and
18 the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations; and
19 WHEREAS, Jeffrey E. Lewis has previously been employed
20 with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, serving as an
21 Assistant District Attorney from 1981 to 1982; the U.S.
22 Securities & Exchange Commission in New York City from 1982
23 to 1984; the firm of Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine,
24 Underberg, Manley & Casey as an Associate from 1984 to 1986;
25 the Chicago Stock Exchange as Senior Vice President with the
26 International Counsel from 1986 to 1997; and DST Catalyst,
27 Inc. of Chicago as Managing Director & General Counsel from
28 1997 to 1998; and
29 WHEREAS, Mr. Lewis' practice with Gordon & Glickson is
30 centered on domestic and international information technology
31 transactions; his experience involves negotiating complex

1 agreements involving telecommunications, securities, software
2 licensing, maintenance and support, systems integration,
3 consulting services, confidentiality and trade secret
4 protection, software distribution, hardware acquisition,
5 employment, facilities management, teaming, stock purchases,
6 and joint ventures; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Lewis has been involved with major
8 transactions involving corporations and institutions located
9 in North America, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia,
10 Africa, and the Middle East; therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13 we congratulate Jeffrey E. Lewis on becoming a partner in the
14 law firm of Gordon & Glickson in Chicago, Illinois; and be it
15 further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to Jeffrey E. Lewis, along with our sincere
18 regards.
