1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, DeVry Institute of Technology was founded in
3 Chicago in 1931; and
4 WHEREAS, DeVry has educated tens of thousands of students
5 in Illinois, many who are the first in their families to earn
6 a college degree; and
7 WHEREAS, The DeVry Institute campus in Chicago is part of
8 an international degree-granting higher education system,
9 with 17 campuses in 9 states and 2 Canadian provinces
10 currently serving nearly 38,000 students; and
11 WHEREAS, The DeVry curricula unites education,
12 technology, and business, offering technology-based,
13 career-oriented programs that prepare students to be
14 productive from their first day in the workplace; and
15 WHEREAS, DeVry confers bachelor of science degrees in
16 accounting, business administration, computer information
17 systems, electronics engineering technology, technical
18 management, and telecommunications management and an
19 associate degree in electronics to a diverse student
20 population; and
21 WHEREAS, On January 13, 2000, DeVry will open a new
22 Technology Education Center at its Chicago campus; therefore,
23 be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago for
27 its years of educational service and on the opening of its
28 new Technology Education Center; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That we wish continued success and achievement
30 to the faculty, staff, and students; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the faculty, staff, and students of DeVry
3 Institute of Technology in Chicago.
