1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is the policy of this State to ensure that
3 the residents of the State correctional facilities receive
4 high quality nursing services at the lowest possible cost,
5 with due regard for the taxpayers of the State and the needs
6 of both public and private sector nurses; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9 the Illinois Department of Corrections refrain from
10 negotiating or entering into any agreement with private
11 sector vendors to provide nursing services in Illinois
12 correctional facilities until after the ratification of a new
13 collective bargaining agreement with agents representing
14 Department of Corrections nurses who are State employees; and
15 be it further
16 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be sent
17 to the Governor, the Director of Corrections, the Director of
18 the Bureau of the Budget, and the Director of Central
19 Management Services.
