1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Meghan Krueger was born on October 23, 1984 in
3 Arlington Heights, Illinois, and was a lifelong resident of
4 Schaumburg; and
5 WHEREAS, She was the daughter of Mike and Jill Krueger
6 and the sister of Amanda and Jenny Krueger; and
7 WHEREAS, She loved animals, music, sports, family, and
8 Jesus Christ and will be remembered for her contagious smile;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, She was an incoming freshman of Hoffman Estates
11 High School; and
12 WHEREAS, On August 20, 1999, she was on her way home from
13 school to tell her family that she had made the varsity swim
14 team when she was tragically struck by a van; and
15 WHEREAS, She left this world on August 30, 1999, and is
16 missed by many, and
17 WHEREAS, Pedestrian overpasses will be built because of
18 the intercession of Governor George Ryan; there are two
19 proposed overpasses on Gannon Road, at the intersections of
20 both Golf Road and Higgins Road, in Hoffman Estates near
21 Hoffman Estates High School; and
22 WHEREAS, The overpasses will provide a safe passage for
23 children to get to and from Hoffman Estates High School
24 without interfering with the flow of traffic; therefore, be
25 it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 the two proposed overpasses on Gannon Road, at the
29 intersections of both Golf Road and Higgins Road in Hoffman
30 Estates, will be named the Meghan Krueger Overpasses; and be

2 RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
3 be requested to erect, at a suitable location consistent with
4 State and federal regulations, an appropriate plaque or signs
5 giving notice of the name; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
7 presented to Mike and Jill Krueger and the Secretary of
8 Transportation.
