1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of
3 this Body welcome the opportunity to recognize citizens of
4 this State who make outstanding contributions to society; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that David M.
6 Keeley is retiring as Director of School-Community Relations
7 for School District 54 in Schaumburg; and
8 WHEREAS, He received his bachelor's degree in education
9 from Western Illinois University and his master's degree from
10 the University of Illinois; and
11 WHEREAS, He began his career as a teacher at Joliet
12 Central High School from 1969-1970 and taught at Keller
13 Junior High School from 1971-1975 and at Eisenhower Junior
14 High School from 1975-1978; and
15 WHEREAS, He has been affiliated with the Illinois Chapter
16 of the National School Public Relations Association, the
17 United Way of Hoffman Estates, the Rotary Club of
18 Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates, and the United States Peace
19 Corps; and
20 WHEREAS, He has developed and overseen the production of
21 a variety of publications including "School Zone", "Visions",
22 and the "Parent-Student Handbook"; he also coordinated
23 communications with the press and with the school community;
24 and
25 WHEREAS, David Keeley has made many contributions to
26 School District 54 and is respected and admired by all who
27 know him; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we congratulate David Keeley as he retires as Director of

1 School-Community Relations for School District 54 and applaud
2 the dedicated work he has performed; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to him as an expression of our admiration and
5 esteem.
