1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State; and
5 WHEREAS, Reverend Clay Evans, Pastor of the Fellowship
6 Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, is celebrating his 74th
7 birthday; and
8 WHEREAS, Reverend Evans is a well respected and well
9 known minister, in both religious and civic circles; he
10 serves as President of the Broadcast Minister's Alliance of
11 Chicago; he is the Chairman Emeritus of the National
12 Rainbow/Push Coalition; Reverend Evans recently received an
13 honorary doctorate degree from North Park University; and
14 WHEREAS, The church will celebrate the birthday of
15 Reverend Evans with Reverend Charles Straight and Reverend
16 Charles Jenkins speaking to the congregation and guests;
17 soloists will be featured throughout the day and a reception
18 will be held; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate Reverend Clay Evans on the occasion of his
22 74th birthday; we also wish to acknowledge the hard work and
23 dedication that it takes to be a minister, working with the
24 community and serving the needs of others; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Reverend Clay Evans, along with our sincere
27 regards.
