1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Pontus Lundh, the 18 year old son of Goran and
3 Birgitta Lundh, is a resident of the small town of
4 Stenungund, near Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden; and
5 WHEREAS, Because of his intelligent and patient, but
6 ambitious nature, AYUSA International selected Pontus Lundh
7 to participate in its foreign exchange student program during
8 the 1998-1999 high school academic year; and
9 WHEREAS, Pontus Lundh has been the courteous guest of
10 Dennis R. and Tamara Guernsey, at 3030 Hazlett Road,
11 Springfield, Illinois, from where he enrolled and studied as
12 a student at Pleasant Plains High School, Pleasant Plains,
13 Illinois; and
14 WHEREAS, Since arriving in the United States, the State
15 of Illinois, at Springfield, in August, 1998, Pontus Lundh
16 has continuously shown respect, admiration, and appreciation
17 for his host family, for his school mates and for the
18 faculty, and for all people, places, and things; therefore,
19 be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 Pontus Lundh is offered sincere, heartfelt congratulations
23 for his adventuresome and educational visit to the United
24 States, the State of Illinois, and Springfield, and he is
25 extended best wishes for a safe and joyous return to his
26 loving family and his native Sweden; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Pontus Lundh as an expression of our respect and
29 esteem.
