1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of
3 this Body welcome the opportunity to recognize citizens of
4 this State who make outstanding contributions to society; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Michael
6 Heersche has announced his retirement as a teacher with the
7 Libertyville Elementary School District #70 after thirty-four
8 years of dedicated service as a 7th and 8th grade science
9 teacher; and
10 WHEREAS, He received an exemplary teaching award in 1968;
11 he served as a yearbook coordinator, track coach, worked with
12 the chess club, the science club, and was film co-op
13 coordinator; and
14 WHEREAS, Michael Heersche is a member of the National
15 Science Teachers Association, and served as the Libertyville
16 Education Association president for seven years;he served on
17 the science curriculum committee for ten years, the scip
18 committee for three years, as well as working with science
19 debates, and science programs; therefore be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate Michael Heersche for thirty-four years of
23 outstanding service in teaching, that we commend him for his
24 dedication to education and to his students, and that we
25 extend to him our sincere best wishes for the future; and be
26 it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Michael Heersche.
