1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize outstanding
4 businesses in this State; and
5 WHEREAS, The Wilmette Chamber of Commerce has selected
6 it's Annual Award winners in the categories of Citizen of the
7 Year and Business of the Year; and
8 WHEREAS, Kelly's Appliance has been selected 1999
9 Business of the Year; a panel of judges representing the
10 business community selected Kelly's Appliance based on what
11 the business does for the community; and
12 WHEREAS, Kelly's Appliance was started in 1967 by Kelly
13 Gavin, who was joined by his father, Cal, a few years later;
14 in 1993 employee Rick Schwartzhoff became the owner of
15 Kelly's; the business sells and services appliances and
16 vacuums, and rewires lamps; the business supports Wilmette
17 baseball teams, community activities, and is a long time
18 member of the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate Kelly's Appliance on being named Business of
22 the Year by the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce; and be it
23 further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Kelly's Appliance.
