1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Francis Napleton will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of
8 their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Francis and Elizabeth Napleton were united in
10 holy matrimony on May 28, 1949 at Little Flower Catholic
11 Church in Chicago by the Reverend Thomas Fitzgerald; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Ellen, Edward,
13 Stephen, Gerald, Paul, Mimi, William, and Robert and the
14 proud grandparents of 30 grandchildren; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as Francis and Elizabeth
17 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, They stand as examples of the best of our
19 society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
20 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
21 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
22 world; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate Francis and Elizabeth Napleton on the
26 occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we
27 commend them for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed
28 with children and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and
29 that we wish them happiness and good health in the future;
30 and be it further

2 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
