1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence S. Bizar is retiring as principal
6 of Devonshire School after 28 years as principal there and a
7 total of 34 years in School District 68; and
8 WHEREAS, He received a bachelor's degree in Education
9 from the University of Illinois, a master's degree in
10 Educational Administration from Roosevelt University, and a
11 Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from
12 Northwestern University; and
13 WHEREAS, He first entered District #68 as a teacher at
14 Highland School in Skokie in 1965; he was hired as principal
15 of Devonshire School in 1971; he served as Assistant
16 Superintendent/Devonshire Principal from 1987 to 1989; and
17 WHEREAS, He is affiliated with the National Association
18 of Elementary School Principals, Illinois Principals'
19 Association, Midwest Principals' Association, Niles Township
20 Principals' Association, and the Association for Supervision
21 and Curriculum Development; and
22 WHEREAS, He has been supported throughout his public and
23 private life by his wife, Doreen; his son and
24 daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Paulette; his daughter, Dawn;
25 and his grandchildren, Jack and Ben; and
26 WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence S. Bizar will be sorely missed by
27 all those who have had the opportunity to work with him;
28 therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate Dr. Lawrence S. Bizar on his retirement and
2 that we commend him for his many years of exemplary service
3 to School District 68; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
