1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Miss Amanda Meadows, Miss Macomb, was crowned
3 Miss Illinois 1999 by the reigning Miss America Kate Shindle;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, Miss Meadows of Sycamore represented Macomb in
6 the pageant and won the title after accumulating the most
7 points in the interview, talent, evening gown, and physical
8 fitness portions of the competition; and
9 WHEREAS, Amanda Meadows was the first Miss Macomb in 21
10 years to be named Miss Illinois; and
11 WHEREAS, Miss Meadows, a Western Illinois University
12 student, represented Illinois at the Miss America Pageant in
13 Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September; therefore, be it
14 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16 congratulate Miss Amanda Meadows on being named Miss Illinois
17 1999 and extend our best wishes for her future; and be it
18 further
19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to Miss Amanda Meadows as an expression of our
21 esteem.
