1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere and heartfelt
4 sympathy to the family, friends, and colleagues of Chicago
5 Police Officer James Camp, who recently was killed in the
6 line of duty; and
7 WHEREAS, James Camp was born in Peoria, Illinois, on
8 March 12, 1964; he married his wife, Opal, in December of
9 1998; and
10 WHEREAS, James Camp received three years of college
11 education; he served with the United States Marine Corp,
12 receiving an honorable discharge on February 25, 1995; and
13 WHEREAS, While serving with the Chicago Police
14 Department, he received a Department Commendation, 23
15 Honorable Mentions, and one Complimentary Letter; Officer
16 Camp was highly respected and liked by those who knew and
17 served with him in the 21st District; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we mourn, along with all knew and loved him, the death of
21 James Camp, Officer of the Chicago Police Department; through
22 his dedication and service we will remember his name; and be
23 it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the 21st District Chief and the wife of James
26 Camp.
