 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, On February 2, 1874,  a  group  of  transplanted
 3    Lutherans   from   Pomerania,  East  Prussia,  formed  a  new
 4    congregation called  Immanuel  Evangelical  Lutheran  Church;
 5    this year marks the 125th anniversary of the Church; and

 6        WHEREAS, The congregation has grown from a few members to
 7    a membership of over 900 members; and

 8        WHEREAS,   Since   its   beginning   in   1874,  Immanuel
 9    Evangelical Lutheran  Church  has  been  the  scene  of  many
10    festive  occasions, as well as many sad ones, for the members
11    of its congregation and has provided the community  with  the
12    necessary   services   essential  to  the  socialization  and
13    stabilization of a community; and

14        WHEREAS, It is  through  the  tireless  efforts  of  such
15    dedicated  individuals  as Reverend Fred A. Muenchow, and all
16    those who have preceded him in this task, that the Church has
17    been an enduring example of Christ's Church and an  exemplary
18    beacon  of  spiritual service to its community throughout the
19    past 125 years; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-FIRST  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we congratulate Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church  on  the
23    occasion   of  its  125th  anniversary  and  acknowledge  the
24    valuable services it has provided throughout the  years;  and
25    be it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to the Pastor, Reverend Fred A. Muenchow.
