1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Andrew Bradie of Chicago will celebrate the fiftieth
8 anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Andrew Bradie and Mary Bradie were united in
10 holy matrimony on February 26, 1949, at the home of the
11 bride's parents in Chicago; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of 3 children; the
13 loving grandparents of 5 grandchildren; and the expectant
14 great-grandparents of their first great-grandchild; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as Andrew and Mary
17 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, Andrew worked in the Parking Industry for 50
19 years; Mary was busy serving as a homemaker for the family;
20 they are members of St. Dorothy's Parish; and
21 WHEREAS, Andrew and Mary stand as examples of the best of
22 our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
23 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
24 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
25 world; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Andrew and Mary Bradie on the occasion of
29 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
30 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children

1 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
2 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
3 further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
