1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body wish to acknowledge the
3 Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc., and its work to
4 improve the quality of life for children at risk; and
5 WHEREAS, The Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc., is an
6 organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism,
7 developing the potential of women, and improving communities
8 through the effective action and leadership of trained
9 volunteers; its purpose is exclusively educational and
10 charitable; and
11 WHEREAS, Projects supported by the Junior League are
12 CASA, ChildServ, Kids on the Block, Our Children's Place,
13 Parent's Pantry, Story Wizards, and Opportunity Knocks; two
14 additional proposals for community projects are Glenwood
15 School for Boys and Mutual Ground; and
16 WHEREAS, The Junior League started in 1992 with 48
17 members; this year it boasts 180 members; a celebration will
18 be held March 6, 1999 at the annual "Winterflight Gala,
19 Celebration of the Century"; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate the Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc.,
23 for the work it has performed, and we applaud the
24 volunteerism provided by its members; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to the Junior League of Greater DuKane, Inc.
