1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Naperville Men's Glee Club celebrated its
3 tenth anniversary in 1998; and
4 WHEREAS, The Naperville Men's Glee Club has represented
5 Naperville in the singing of the National Anthem at Comiskey
6 Park for eight years and performed for the Easter Seals
7 Telethon for four years; and
8 WHEREAS, It has organized concerts with and brought to
9 Naperville male glee clubs from the Miami University, Purdue
10 University, the University of Illinois, and the Naval Academy
11 and has performed with eight choruses in a Plainfield Tornado
12 Relief Benefit Concert given at the Paramount Theatre in
13 Aurora; and
14 WHEREAS, It has performed the service music for the
15 annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball for ten years, performed
16 for numerous corporate and organizational functions, and
17 appeared on CBS-TV and various local cable television shows;
18 and
19 WHEREAS, The Glee Club has instituted a program of
20 encouraging and proving training for junior high and senior
21 high male choral students in Districts 203 and 204; and
22 WHEREAS, They have debuted six original compositions and
23 nearly fifty original arrangements; and
24 WHEREAS, They have been awarded grants from the
25 Naperville Jaycees, the Travelers Foundation, and the AT&T
26 Foundation, and have been recognized with a grant from the
27 Illinois Arts Council for six years; and
28 WHEREAS, The Naperville Men's Glee Club is indeed worthy
29 of our highest praise; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we congratulate the Naperville Men's Glee Club on their tenth
3 anniversary and applaud them for all the good work they have
4 done; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the Naperville Men's Glee Club.
