 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are  proud  to  recognize  milestones in the
 4    lives of citizens of the State; and

 5        WHEREAS, It has come to our attention  that  Mrs.  Louise
 6    Gentle  of  Maroa, Illinois is celebrating her 107th birthday
 7    this year; and

 8        WHEREAS, Anna Louise McLean was born on January 26, 1892;
 9    she married George Gentle on December 17, 1918; together they
10    were  the  parents  of  four  children:  Paul  Gentle,   Mary
11    Holtsclaw,  Dorothy  Ellinwood, and Robert Gentle; Louise has
12    15   grandchildren,    23    great-grandchildren,    and    6
13    great-great-grandchildren; and

14        WHEREAS,  Louise Gentle was born and raised in Maroa; for
15    a brief time she lived elsewhere but  returned  to  Maroa  in
16    1943;  she  is  an active part of the Maroa Methodist Church;
17    Mrs. Gentle served on the Township Library Board in the 1940s
18    and 1950s; before the consolidation of the school system  she
19    served   on  the  Maroa  Grade  School  Board;  in  1954  she
20    co-authored the Centennial Book for the community; and

21        WHEREAS, 107 years is truly a milestone  in  one's  life;
22    Mrs. Gentle is truly a valuable part of Illinois and deserves
23    to be commended for reaching this landmark age; therefore, be
24    it

25        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
26    NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
27    we congratulate Mrs. Louise Gentle on her 107th birthday; may
28    she  enjoy  good  health and happiness as the years progress;
29    and be it further

30        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
31    presented to Louise Gentle.
