1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the
4 well-being of the citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, David O. Cooprider has announced his retirement
6 as Superintendent of the Macon-Piatt Educational Service
7 Region after nearly 14 years in that position; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Cooprider announced in 1997 that he would
9 not seek re-election to a fourth term; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Cooprider has devoted 41 years of his life
11 to education; he plans to continue teaching at Richland
12 Community College; and
13 WHEREAS, He has earned the respect and admiration of all
14 those who work for him, and especially the respect of those
15 whom he taught and whose teaching certificates he signed; and
16 WHEREAS, He has been supported throughout his public and
17 private life by his wife, Nancy; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we congratulate David O. Cooprider and wish him good luck in
21 the future; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
