1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
3 the Village of Park Forest is celebrating its 50th
4 anniversary of its incorporation this year; and
5 WHEREAS, Park Forest was one of the nation's first
6 totally planned model communities; and
7 WHEREAS, Park Forest created pioneer programs including
8 recycling, teen drop-in centers, and innovative home-assist
9 health care; and
10 WHEREAS, Park Forest established a national reputation
11 for volunteerism, community involvement, and diversity; and
12 WHEREAS, Twice named an All-American City, Park Forest is
13 hailed for racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity; and
14 WHEREAS, Park Forest has an award-winning Fire Department
15 and EMS services with a three-minute response time; and
16 WHEREAS, Park Forest, a recognized leader in developing
17 and nurturing the performing and visual arts, boasts a full
18 equity theater, professional symphony orchestra, a fine arts
19 gallery, and one of the few community-operated cultural
20 centers; and
21 WHEREAS, Park Forest is facing the 21st Century with
22 dreams of future growth, and the residents of the Village are
23 proud of its history and its contributions to the State of
24 Illinois; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate the residents of the Village of Park Forest
28 on its 50th anniversary and extend our sincere wishes for
29 future success and growth; and be it further

2 presented to the President of the Village of Park Forest.
