1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Dale Terven of Philo celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of
8 their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Dale and Mary Terven were united in holy
10 matrimony on December 5, 1948 in Bloomington; and
11 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Dennis Terven,
12 Lonney Terven, Roger Terven, Teresa Williams, Phil Terven,
13 Carol Smith, Paula Wilson, and Craig Terven and the proud
14 grandparents of 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
17 highest plateaus when a couple such as Dale and Mary Terven
18 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
19 WHEREAS, Dale and Mary Terven stand as examples of the
20 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
21 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
22 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
23 difference in today's world; therefore be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Dale and Mary Terven on the occasion of their
27 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
28 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
29 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
30 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
31 further
