1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by adding Sections 10-28
2 and 34-21.8.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
6 10-28 and 34-21.8 as follows:
7 (105 ILCS 5/10-28 new)
8 Sec. 10-28. Prevention of access to sexually explicit
9 material. Within 6 months after the effective date of this
10 amendatory Act of the 91st General Assembly, each school
11 board shall adopt and implement a policy to prevent students
12 from gaining access to or being exposed to sexually explicit
13 materials.
14 Within 6 months after the effective date of this
15 amendatory Act of the 91st General Assembly, each school
16 board shall file a copy of the policy required under this
17 Section with the State Board of Education.

19 Sec. 34-21.8. Prevention of access to sexually explicit
20 material. Within 6 months after the effective date of this
21 amendatory Act of the 91st General Assembly, the board shall
22 adopt and implement a policy to prevent students from gaining
23 access to or being exposed to sexually explicit materials.
24 Within 6 months after the effective date of this
25 amendatory Act of the 91st General Assembly, the board shall
26 file a copy of the policy required under this Section with
27 the State Board of Education.
28 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
29 becoming law.
