1 AN ACT to amend the Franchise Disclosure Act of 1987 by
2 changing Section 4.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Franchise Disclosure Act of 1987 is
6 amended by changing Section 4 as follows:
7 (815 ILCS 705/4) (from Ch. 121 1/2, par. 1704)
8 Sec. 4. Jurisdiction and venue. A Any provision in a
9 franchise agreement that designates jurisdiction or venue in
10 a forum outside of this State is void, provided that a
11 franchise agreement may provide for arbitration in a forum
12 outside of this State.
