1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by adding
2 Section 3-2-2.3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
6 adding Section 3-2-2.3 as follows:
7 (730 ILCS 5/3-2-2.3 new)
8 Sec. 3-2-2.3. Prison tour program. The Department shall
9 develop and implement a program to permit minors who are
10 participating in an educational program offered by a school
11 or a non-profit organization to tour State correctional
12 facilities. The Department shall not be liable for any
13 injury or death to a participant in the program.
14 The Department must adopt any rules necessary to
15 implement this Section.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
