 1        AN ACT in relation to transportation.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The  Illinois  Highway  Code  is  amended by
 5    changing Section 9-122 as follows:

 6        (605 ILCS 5/9-122) (from Ch. 121, par. 9-122)
 7        Sec. 9-122. If a any person purposely destroys or injures
 8    any sidewalk, public bridge, culvert, or causeway, or removes
 9    any of the timber or plank thereof, or obstructs the same, he
10    shall be guilty of a petty offense, fined not more than $100,
11    and shall be liable for all damages  occasioned  thereby  and
12    all necessary costs for rebuilding or repairing the same.
