1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Pension Code.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
5 adding Section 7-224 as follows:
6 (40 ILCS 5/7-224 new)
7 Sec. 7-224. Notice of health insurance continuation
8 rights. At the time of providing or accepting an application
9 for an annuity under this Article, the Fund shall provide
10 information to the applicant concerning the right to elect
11 continuation of group health insurance coverage under the
12 continuation provisions of the Illinois Insurance Code.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
