1 AN ACT in relation to consumer fraud.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Consumer Fraud Sunshine Act.
6 Section 5. Fraudulent organizations. The Office of the
7 Attorney General shall maintain a centralized database of the
8 names, locations, areas of operation, and methods of
9 operation of businesses and organizations that are deemed by
10 the Consumer Fraud Division of the Attorney General's Office
11 to be fraudulent or to operate in an illegal or unscrupulous
12 manner. The Office of the Attorney General must make the
13 information contained in the centralized database accessible
14 on the Internet by means of a hyperlink labeled "Fraudulent
15 Organizations and Businesses Information" on the Attorney
16 General's World Wide Web home page. The Office of the
17 Attorney General must update this information as it deems
18 necessary. The Attorney General must promulgate rules to
19 implement this Section.
