1 AN ACT to amend the Mechanics Lien Act.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Mechanics Lien Act is amended by changing
5 Section 2 as follows:
6 (770 ILCS 60/2) (from Ch. 82, par. 2)
7 Sec. 2. Liens for labor or materials furnished by
8 mistake. Any person furnishing services, labor or material
9 for the erection of a building, or structure, or improvement,
10 by mistake upon land owned by another than the party
11 contracting as owner, shall have a lien for such services,
12 labor or material upon such building, or structure or
13 improvement, and the court, in the enforcement of such lien,
14 shall order and direct such building, structure or
15 improvement to be separately sold under its judgment, and the
16 purchaser may remove the same within such reasonable time as
17 the court may fix.
