1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Controlled Substances Act by
2 changing Section 207.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Controlled Substances Act is
6 amended by changing Section 207 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 570/207) (from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 1207)
8 Sec. 207. Schedule III; criteria. The Department shall
9 issue a rule scheduling a substance in Schedule III if it
10 finds that:
11 (1) the substance has a potential for abuse less than
12 the substances listed in Schedule I and II;
13 (2) the substance has currently accepted medical use in
14 treatment in the United States; and
15 (3) abuse of the substance may lead to moderate or low
16 physiological dependence or high psychological dependence.
