1 AN ACT in relation to education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
5 Section 34-74 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/34-74) (from Ch. 122, par. 34-74)
7 Sec. 34-74. Custody of school moneys. Except as provided
8 in Articles 34A and 34B, and Section 34-29.2 of this Code,
9 all moneys raised by taxation for school purposes, or
10 received from the state common school fund, or from any other
11 source for school purposes, shall be held by the city
12 treasurer, ex-officio, as school treasurer, in separate funds
13 for school purposes, subject to the order of the board upon
14 (i) its warrants signed by its president and secretary and
15 countersigned by the mayor and city comptroller or (ii) its
16 checks, as defined in Section 3-104 of the Uniform Commercial
17 Code, signed by its president, secretary, and comptroller and
18 countersigned by the mayor and city comptroller.
