 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3312

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3312,  AS  AMENDED,
 3    as follows:

 4    in  Section  10, the introductory clause, by replacing "3-645
 5    and 3-646" with "3-645, 3-646, and 3-647"; and

 6    in Section 10, below Sec. 3-646, by inserting the following:

 7        "(625 ILCS 5/3-647 new)
 8        Sec. 3-647.  World War II Veteran License Plates.
 9        (a)  In addition to any other special license plate,  the
10    Secretary,   upon   receipt   of   all  applicable  fees  and
11    applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary  of
12    State,  may  issue  World  War  II  Veteran license plates to
13    residents  of  Illinois  who  meet  eligibility  requirements
14    prescribed by the Secretary of State.  The special World  War
15    II  Veteran  plate issued under this Section shall be affixed
16    only to passenger vehicles of the first  division  and  motor
17    vehicles  of the second division weighing not more than 8,000
18    pounds.  Plates  issued  under  this  Section  shall   expire
19    according  to  the staggered multi-year procedure established
20    by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.
21        (b)  The design, color, and format of the plates shall be
22    wholly within the discretion of the Secretary of State.   The

 1    Secretary  may, in his or her discretion, allow the plates to
 2    be issued as vanity plates or personalized in accordance with
 3    Section 3-405.1 of this Code.  The plates are not required to
 4    designate "Land Of Lincoln", as prescribed in subsection  (b)
 5    of Section 3-412 of this Code.  The Secretary shall prescribe
 6    the  eligibility  requirements and, in his or her discretion,
 7    shall approve and prescribe stickers or  decals  as  provided
 8    under Section 3-412.
 9        (c)  An applicant shall be charged a $15 fee for original
10    issuance  in  addition  to  the  applicable registration fee.
11    This additional fee shall be deposited into the Secretary  of
12    State  Special  License  Plate  Fund.  For  each registration
13    renewal period, a $2 fee,  in  addition  to  the  appropriate
14    registration  fee,  shall  be  charged and shall be deposited
15    into the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund.".
