1 AN ACT to amend the Military Veterans Assistance Act.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Military Veterans Assistance Act is
5 amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (330 ILCS 45/1) (from Ch. 23, par. 3081)
7 Sec. 1. Overseer of military veterans assistance. The
8 term "Overseer of military veterans assistance", as used in
9 this Act, shall be construed to mean all persons whose duty
10 it is, under the existing statutes, to care for, relieve or
11 maintain, wholly or in part, any person who may be entitled
12 to such assistance under the statutes of the State of
13 Illinois. This Act shall not infringe upon the mandated
14 powers and authorities vested in the Illinois Department of
15 Veterans' Affairs.
