1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3049
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3049, AS AMENDED,
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
5 "Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
6 adding Section 20 as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 305/20 new)
8 Sec. 20. Meningitis information; vaccine. The
9 University shall include in the information it provides to
10 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about
11 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased
12 risk of contracting meningitis, and the meningitis vaccine.
13 This information shall include the number of cases of
14 meningitis reported at the University in the previous
15 academic year. The University shall make the meningitis
16 vaccine available to its students, subject to availability of
17 the vaccine.
18 Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management
19 Act is amended by adding Section 10 as follows:

3 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about
4 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased

9 vaccine available to its students, subject to availability of
10 the vaccine.
11 Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended
12 by adding Section 5-115 as follows:

14 Sec. 5-115. Meningitis information; vaccine. The
15 University shall include in the information it provides to
16 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about
17 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased
18 risk of contracting meningitis, and the meningitis vaccine.
19 This information shall include the number of cases of
20 meningitis reported at the University in the previous
21 academic year. The University shall make the meningitis
22 vaccine available to its students, subject to availability of
23 the vaccine.
24 Section 20. The Eastern Illinois University Law is
25 amended by adding Section 10-115 as follows:

29 Section 45. The Western Illinois University Law is

13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
14 July 1, 2000.".
