91_HB3049eng HB3049 Engrossed LRB9110193NTks 1 AN ACT concerning higher education, amending named Acts. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by 5 adding Section 20 as follows: 6 (110 ILCS 305/20 new) 7 Sec. 20. Meningitis information; vaccine. The 8 University shall include in the information it provides to 9 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about 10 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased 11 risk of contracting meningitis, and the meningitis vaccine. 12 This information shall include the number of cases of 13 meningitis reported at the University in the previous 14 academic year. The University shall make the meningitis 15 vaccine available to its students, subject to availability of 16 the vaccine. 17 Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management 18 Act is amended by adding Section 10 as follows: 19 (110 ILCS 520/10 new) 20 Sec. 10. Meningitis information; vaccine. The 21 University shall include in the information it provides to 22 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about 23 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased 24 risk of contracting meningitis, and the meningitis vaccine. 25 This information shall include the number of cases of 26 meningitis reported at the University in the previous 27 academic year. The Chicago State University Law is amended 2 by adding Section 5-115 as follows: 3 (110 ILCS 660/5-115 new) 4 Sec. 5-115. Meningitis information; vaccine. The Northeastern Illinois University Law is 25 amended by adding Section 25-115 as follows: 26 (110 ILCS 680/25-115 new) 27 Sec. 25-115. Meningitis information; vaccine. The 11 University shall include in the information it provides to 12 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about 13 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased 14 risk of contracting meningitis, and the meningitis vaccine. 15 This information shall include the number of cases of 16 meningitis reported at the University in the previous 17 academic year. The University shall make the meningitis 18 vaccine available to its students, subject to availability of 19 the vaccine. 20 Section 45. The Western Illinois University Law is 21 amended by adding Section 35-120 as follows: 22 (110 ILCS 690/35-120 new) 23 Sec. 35-120. Meningitis information; vaccine. The 24 University shall include in the information it provides to 25 its incoming freshmen and transfer students information about 26 meningitis, its transmission, a college student's increased 27 risk of contracting meningitis, and the meningitis vaccine. 28 This information shall include the number of cases of 29 meningitis reported at the University in the previous 30 academic year. This Act takes effect on 4 July 1, 2000.
