1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by
2 changing Section 3-2-9.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
6 changing Section 3-2-9 as follows:
7 (730 ILCS 5/3-2-9) (from Ch. 38, par. 1003-2-9)
8 Sec. 3-2-9. Financial impact statement. Each fiscal
9 year, the Department shall prepare and submit to the clerk of
10 the circuit court a financial impact statement that includes
11 the estimated annual and monthly cost of incarcerating an
12 individual in a Department facility and the estimated
13 construction cost per bed. The estimated annual cost of
14 incarcerating an individual in a Department facility shall be
15 derived by taking the annual expenditures of Adult Division
16 facilities and all administrative costs and dividing the sum
17 of these factors by the average annual inmate population of
18 the facilities. All statements shall be made available to the
19 public for inspection and copying.
