 1        AN  ACT  to  amend  the Illinois Highway Code by changing
 2    Section 4-508.1.

 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.   The  Illinois  Highway  Code  is amended by
 6    changing Section 4-508.1 as follows:

 7        (605 ILCS 5/4-508.1) (from Ch. 121, par. 4-508.1)
 8        Sec. 4-508.1.  In the event the Department obtains or has
 9    obtained fee simple title to, or any lesser interest in,  any
10    land,  rights  or  other  property  under  the  provisions of
11    Section 4-508 of this  Code  in  connection  with  a  project
12    involving  the  planned construction of a federal-aid highway
13    and that project ceases to  be  a  federal-aid  project,  the
14    Department  is  authorized  to convey title to, or any lesser
15    interest in, all such land, rights or property, regardless of
16    whether any construction has taken  place,  to  the  Illinois
17    State  Toll  Highway Authority for without compensation equal
18    to the fair market value of  the  title  or  lesser  interest
19    conveyed  when  such conveyance is approved in writing by the
20    Governor. All moneys resulting from a conveyance  under  this
21    Section shall be deposited into the Road Fund.
