1 AN ACT concerning economic development.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Economic Development Board Act
5 is amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 3965/2) (from Ch. 127, par. 3952)
7 Sec. 2. Illinois Economic Development Board. The
8 Illinois Economic Development Board, referred to in this Act
9 as the board, is hereby created within the Department of
10 Commerce and Community Affairs. The board is charged with
11 the responsibility of assisting the Department with creating
12 a long-term economic development strategy for the State,
13 designed to spur economic growth, enhance opportunities for
14 core Illinois industries, encourage new job creation and
15 investment, that is consistent with the preservation of the
16 State's quality of life and environment.
