 1        AN ACT to amend the  Attorney  General  Act  by  changing
 2    Section 1.

 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section 5.   The  Attorney  General  Act  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 1 as follows:

 7        (15 ILCS 205/1) (from Ch. 14, par. 1)
 8        Sec.  1.  Oath; bond. Before entering upon the respective
 9    duties of his or her office, the Attorney  General  shall  be
10    commissioned  by  the  Governor, and shall take the following
11    oath or affirmation:
12        I do solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be), that
13    I will support the Constitution of the United States and  the
14    Constitution  of  the  State  of  Illinois,  and  that I will
15    faithfully discharge the duties of  the  office  of  attorney
16    general, according to the best of my ability.
17        He or she And shall also execute a bond, to the People of
18    the State of Illinois, with good and sufficient securities in
19    the penal sum of $10,000, to be approved by the governor, and
20    then  filed in the office of the Secretary of State. The bond
21    shall be conditioned  upon  the  faithful  discharge  of  the
22    duties  of  the  office,  and  the  paying over all moneys as
23    provided by law.,  The which bond shall run to and be for the
24    benefit of the State, county, corporation, or person  injured
25    by a breach of any of the bond's conditions thereof.
