91_HB2177eng HB2177 Engrossed LRB9104742NTsb 1 AN ACT to amend the Higher Education Cooperation Act by 2 changing Section 5. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Higher Education Cooperation Act is 6 amended by changing Section 5 as follows: 7 (110 ILCS 220/5) (from Ch. 144, par. 285) 8 Sec. 5. Any not-for-profit corporation organized to 9 administer an interinstitutional program of higher education 10 may be recognized under this Section if it has been in 11 existence for 3 years or longer, it is structured for 12 continuing operation, it is substantial in scope, it is 13 oriented to and supported by the community in which it is 14 located and it is consistent with the Illinois master plan 15 for higher education. 16 In each request of the Board of Higher Education to the 17 General Assembly for the appropriation of funds for the 18 purpose of making grants under this Act the Board shall 19 specify the amount of the grant proposed for each 20 not-for-profit corporation recognized under this Section. 21 The following not-for-profit corporations are recognized 22 for the purposes of this Section: 23 (i) The Quad Cities Graduate Study Center. 24 (ii) The University Center of Lake County. 25 (Source: P.A. 77-2813.) 26 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 27 1, 1999.
